I love brownies....just can't say no to them. The best part is they are so easy to make. These are crunchy yummy brownies with bits of raisin here and there.
Shabs of Home Cooked and Loved sent me this scrumptious recipe, modified it a bit by adding raisins. The chocolate fig sauce goes well as a topping for this brownie.

There's something about brownies which makes me smile . Baking sure has a feel good effect !
Recipe Source : Brilliant Brownies
Serves : 9
Cooking Level : Easy
Total Time : 40mins
Storage : 4-5 days at RT (airtight container)
What You Need ~
200 gms Dark Chocolate
3 Eggs at RT
100 gms Butter at RT
1 tspn Vanilla Essence
8 tspns Sugar
1 Cup All Purpose Flour
1/2 Cup Walnuts (chopped in half )
1/2 Cup Raisins
1tspn All Purpose Flour & 1 tspn Butter (for dusting the baking tin)
Make It ~
- Preheat oven to 180 C for 10 minutes. (Place oven rack in the middle slot)
- Grease baking tin (16cms * 16cms) with butter and dust with all purpose flour. Keep aside
- Microwave chocolate and butter on High for 2 minutes , till both melt. Stir well . OR Melt both in a double boiler to form a smooth liquid
- Remove from heat , add sugar to the liquid and mix well
- Stir in the eggs and vanilla essence. Mix well using whisk or hand mixer for 2 minutes. Next add the flour slowly and mix again for 2-3 minutes or so.Add the walnuts and raisins and mix again for a couple of minutes to form a batter of thick pouring consistency
- Pour the brownie mix into the greased baking tin and bake in the oven at 180 C for 30minutes. Skewer should come out clean.You can remove the brownies at 20-25minutes, if you like them gooey (skewer should come with little bits sticking to it)
- Cool the baking tin for 10-15minutes and turn upside down on a tray to release the brownie mass. Cut into squares/rectangles and serve hot with chocolate fig sauce spread over them
- During bake time, make the chocolate fig sauce
